KX1855
The Krix KX-1855 cinema surround loudspeaker offers high power handling, high efficiency with low frequency extension down to 40Hz (-10dB free space).
The high frequency dome utilises a 2" voice coil, with 120 degree horizontal dispersion and 90 degree vertical dispersion. The choice of this tweeter was to maximise dispersion and eliminate harsh horn style distortion. The bass driver is a 10" coated paper cone with a nominal 2" voice coil for effortless bass response at high power.
It features a 15 degree front baffle angle to ensure smooth, accurate performance with high dynamic sound reproduction and reliability. Typically the audience seated in the area below the surround would experience deep voids, diminishing the movie going experience. This alignment minimises the deep off axis cancellation problems normally associated with two way systems of this type.
